Depression symptoms
Do you suffer from depression?
Depression is the most common serious psychiatric illness, affecting approximately 10 percent of people at some time in their lives. It appears to affect more women than men. With help, the outlook for recovery is very good.
A study found that depression can be associated with subsequent vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The best defense is diagnosis and treatment.
To be diagnosed with a major depressive episode, at least five of the symptoms listed here must be present during the same two week period, including at least one of the first two symptoms.
