Diagnosing fibromyalgia

To be diagnosed with fibromyalgia, the American College of Rheumatology has established two key criteria: a history of widespread pain, and pain specifically at 11 of 18 possible sites.

“Widespread pain” means on both sides of the body, both above and below the waist, and in the neck, chest or lower back.

The 18 possible pain sites are shown here. Eleven must be painful, not just tender, when pressed

Acupressure for pain
For a list of acupressure points, browse the list of body areas on PointFinder.org. Try points for the areas that hurt.
If this is your first time, please read the instructions. Don’t use acupressure to replace standard emergency procedures or licensed medical treatment. If you are seriously injured or have acute symptoms seek urgent medical treatment.
