Stroke types

Types of strokes
Strokes, also known as brain attacks are caused by events that cut off blood supply to brain tissue, killing cells and affecting function. The two main types are ischemic an hemorrhagic.
Ischemic: Embolism and thrombosis are similar; each blocks blood flow. A thrombosis is a stationary blood clot that forms inside a blood vessel. If a thrombosis breaks loose, it’s called an embolism. An embolism may also be a piece of fat, bone or an air bubble in the blood stream. About 80 percent of all strokes are caused by thrombosis and embolism.
Hemorrhagic: If a vessel leaks blood, because it’s injured by trauma or has a weak spot due to disease, this is called a hemorrhage.
Symptoms of stroke include muscular weakness, stiffness, numbness or paralysis, typically on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, understanding, vision disturbances, difficulty swallowing, headache, confusion and rapid eye movement.

Don’t mess around! Only use these points for Stroke while you are waiting for emergency medical treatment. Some other potentially helpful lists of points on PointFinder.org include Headache, Migraine, Paralysis and Seizure.
If this is your first time, please read the instructions. Don’t use acupressure to replace standard emergency procedures or licensed medical treatment. If you are seriously injured or have acute symptoms seek urgent medical treatment.
